I am Hamza Ahmad Aslam, a software engineer from Lahore, Pakistan. My path has taken me through university, out-of-home marketing and web development. Along the way, I have kept learning by building things.

01 / My story
Finding my way into software
Choosing computers
My parents hoped I would choose a more traditional profession. They were unsure that software could offer a stable career, but computers were what interested me. I decided to pursue that interest.
Studying while working
I worked during the day to pay for my software engineering degree while studying full-time. There was little spare time. Balancing both meant learning how to plan around deadlines and keep going when the work was difficult.
A change of direction
Before the COVID-19 lockdowns, I worked on technical solutions for out-of-home marketing. When that work slowed during the pandemic, I used the time to focus more closely on full-stack web development and AI.
I built small projects and read documentation to learn the frameworks. Experienced developers helped me through the transition and into a dedicated engineering role.
The work today
Today, I develop WordPress sites, custom plugins and full-stack applications. I investigate performance problems and build tools for recurring work, including Fleet Sentinel for WordPress monitoring. The projects have grown in scope, but building and testing is still how I learn.

Coalition Technologies
Front-End Developer
I develop and maintain client WordPress sites at Coalition Technologies. My work includes custom plugins, ACF fields and front-end templates, alongside performance troubleshooting, malware cleanup, server hardening, and DNS and email delivery fixes.
Feb 2022 — Mar 2025
Half Price Packaging
Website Developer
I reworked WordPress admin and theme components, improved performance, and removed malicious code. During my time at Half Price Packaging, site performance improved 10x and traffic rose 5x. I also hardened the installation against further attacks.

Gallery Media Group, New York
WordPress Developer
I resolved production tickets and developed features on WordPress VIP at Gallery Media Group. I worked with other teams to define requirements, review code and deploy performance improvements.

STRABL
WordPress Developer
I built a custom WordPress plugin and WooCommerce payment gateway for STRABL’s “Try Now, Buy Later” service. The integration let shoppers try a product before paying, using PHP and the WordPress and WooCommerce APIs.

Salsoft Technologies
WordPress Developer
I developed custom WordPress themes, templates and plugins at Salsoft Technologies. Caching and page-load improvements raised GTmetrix and Lighthouse scores. I also tested across browsers and carried out security audits.

Obelisk Immersive Media
Website Developer
I led website development at Obelisk Immersive Media, turning mockups into interfaces with HTML, JavaScript, AJAX and JSON. I built 25 websites using Vue.js, jQuery, Three.js and CSS3, and maintained their security after launch.
03 / Beyond client work
Code is one way I make things.
I also make digital art with 3D environments, lighting and generative visuals. It gives me space to experiment with composition outside a project brief.
